FurnishWEB Downloads Now Allows Links to Other Websites

Just quick post to let everyone know we've added a new option to the Downloads section of FurnishWEB. In addition to the current functionality of uploading a file to the Downloads, manufacturers now have the option to enter a Link or URL to another website address or file.

A radio button at the top of the form provides the selection.

Download

The default is DOWNLOAD. This option reveals the Browse button to select a file from your local hard-drive.

Link

The other option is LINK (screenshot attached). The LINK option hides the Browse button and reveals a field in which to type or copy/paste the URL to a different website or file.

There is no difference in how these appear to users of FurnishWEB. However, when a Download is clicked, the file begins to download to the user's local computer. When a Link is clicked, the associated URL opens in a new Window to review that URL's website.

We know this feature has been well requested recently so we put it in an intermediate FurnishWEB release today. We know it will be helpful to our customers.

New Order Search and Filter Options

Our users asked and we listened. FurnishWEB has always had Order search and filter capabilities but it just wasn’t working great for everyone. This latest release addresses those issues and provides greater flexibility for anyone searching or browsing orders.

Search Results not Limited

Many sales reps and customer service personnel were limited to 200 orders in their criteria results. This eased stress on the FurnishWEB server but not ease the stress of a user that wished to browse more than 200 results. Having to narrow their search criteria was not making them happy. So, we’ve removed that limit and return ALL the results of the search and there is now links to browse through pages of 50 orders at a time.

We include Hold, Open, In-Process, Scheduled, Waiting, and Pending orders by default when the Orders tab is selected.

Meaningful Amounts

We’ve added better amount totals at the bottom of the search results.

And, by popular demand, the Planned Shipped Date and the Open Dollar Amount are included on the order results page. Our sales reps love these improvements because previously they had to drill into each individual order or run a PDF report to determine their open dollar amounts.

Sorting by Different Columns

I guess we thought sorting by Order Number was the only useful to browse orders. Wrong. Our users want to sort data their own way of course and now they can click the column headers to re-sort their order search results data by Order Number, Date, Type, Dealer, or Planned Ship Date.

Quick Filters

Finally, we've added a couple new quick links at the top of the screen to quickly narrow the order list by common status criteria: Pending Orders, Hold Orders, or Orders Shipping This Week!

We hope these changes make your job easier!

As always, please let us know if you have FurnishWEB questions or suggestions by emailing support@furnishweb.com.
